From cars zooming through hi-tech landscapes to soda can puppets, German born director-designer Carsten Becker fuses products with discovery, sports with synthesized bodies, and stylized imagery with elegant typography.
Carsten's education began in the optical effects department of Bavaria Studios in Munich ("Das Boot", "Neverending Story"). Carsten then completed a formal education in cinematography in Berlin and became an early adopter of digital post production. In 1998, Carsten was awarded a scholarship for a new full-time Visual Effects and Title Design program at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. On graduation he was offered a job with renowned title designer Kyle Cooper at Imaginary Forces in Hollywood.
A senior creative on national campaigns for Adidas, Nike, Sprint, Microsoft, as well as leading entertainment brands, Carsten's portfolio has garnered wide industry recognition including several Promax Gold and Silver awards and an Emmy nomination. He has designed and directed film and TV opens, commercials and immersive experiences that have taken a fresh approach at promoting their brands.
Carsten holds a Master Degree from the American Film Institute and regularly teaches design and animation workshops at the California Institute of the Arts (Calarts).
